What Makes Me a Christian

There is one thing I believe wholeheartedly that I believe makes me a Christian.

Jesus Christ died as a sacrifice to forgive me of all my sins. All of them.

And when I go up for communion, I ask God to forgive me for all of my sins, all of them... not just the ones for which I'm conscious...

But lets face it, I live in a fallen world, in a fallen body, and as much joy as it would bring God for me to live a completely sinless life, it's only happened once since creation...

Now that's not to say this is justification for my sins (there are chapters in the bible dedicated to the topic, and why it's wrong), but an aknowledgement that I am a sinner.

I will swear, I will sleep through the occasional service, I will cheat at the occasional board games (otherwise I might lose), I will drink too much, I will fantasize, I will lie... The list can go on and on. These are things I need God's help with because, for me, they're hard...

But one thing I will not accept is an ANNONOMOUS PERSON LEAVING REMARKS IN PEOPLES BLOGS TELLING THEM THAT THEY ARE HYPOCITES!

If you want to help a person, confront them in person. If you don't feel comfortable approaching them that's probably for one of a feew reasons

1) You don't know the person well enough and you realize that whatever you say has no bearing whatsoever [and I hope that makes you feel like a bigger person]

2) You realize that you're stupid as fuck but still want to pass judgement on others as they try to sort their lives out (as a sad and desperate attempt to feel better about yourself) [and I really do hope that makes you feel like a bigger person]

3) You don't like the person whos page you are commenting on and are hiding behind the fact that you can post annonomously so that you can hurt them [are you a bigger person yet]

And please, mr or mrs annonomous, remember this:

Romans 14: 1-13

1Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters. 2One man's faith allows him to eat everything, but another man, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables. 3The man who eats everything must not look down on him who does not, and the man who does not eat everything must not condemn the man who does, for God has accepted him. 4Who are you to judge someone else's servant? To his own master he stands or falls. And he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand.
5One man considers one day more sacred than another; another man considers every day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind. 6He who regards one day as special, does so to the Lord. He who eats meat, eats to the Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and he who abstains, does so to the Lord and gives thanks to God. 7For none of us lives to himself alone and none of us dies to himself alone. 8If we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.
9For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living. 10You, then, why do you judge your brother? Or why do you look down on your brother? For we will all stand before God's judgment seat. 11It is written: " 'As surely as I live,' says the Lord, 'every knee will bow before me; every tongue will confess to God.' "[a] 12So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God.
13Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in your brother's way.

Matthew 7:1-5

1"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. 2For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
3"Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4How can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.

(wow... it's like Jesus himself is telling you to stfu)

I will follow Jesus example... please, mr or ms annonomous, stfu!

There's a time and place for anonymous comments, but insulting someone on their own blog isn't it.

Consider signing up for www.sitemeter.com. You might find out that the "anonymous" poster is the same person who posted another comment.

What happened to religious tolerance anyway? I don't share your beliefs myself, but calling you a "hypocrite" is not only factually incorrect but also way, way outside the bounds of decency.

"(wow... it's like Jesus himself is telling you to stfu)"... ha ha *classic* :)

Thank-you for writing, I agree with this 100%, and I am really getting tired of these anonymous comments.

"and...you're supposed to be a Christian? what a hypocrite on so many levels...."

combined with comments I've gotten, and comments Justin has gotten...
